South Korea power couple, Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung, finally tied the knot at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul on Saturday. According to Taiwanese media reports, the star-studded wedding had cost a total of TW$5 million (about S$210,000) and the duo is planning to visit Maldives for their honeymoon.
On a variety programme previously, the 43-year-old movie star revealed his short-lived romance with the then 24-year-old actress Min Jung back in 2006. He also disclosed that the pair had gone separate ways not long after, due to work commitments. Shortly after rumours of the two’s reconciliation last year, Byung Hun and Min Jung went public with their relationship in August.
During a press conference before their grand wedding, the couple shared about their future plans. Heartthrob Byung Hun disclosed that the pair will be moving in with his mother after the wedding and they are in the midst of planning their trip to Maldives. The decision to move in with the actor’s mother was initiated by the thoughtful Min Jung, 31, who became a household name for her supporting role in popular TV drama series, Boys Over Flowers.
Exuding an air of happiness, Byung Hun praises his wife for her meticulous gesture; forsaking their Cheongdam-dong home (one of Korea’s luxury residential area) to move into his old home.
The international star, who unlike Min Jung’s wealthy family background, grew up in a tight financial environment where his mother had to work hard to support his endeavours. Hence, the latter is especially grateful towards Min Jung’s thoughtfulness.
